If you wanted to know whether or not it was worth it to wake up at 5AM, let me answer quick and without hesitation. Yes it was you lazy bastard.
Elimination Chamber was a BIG FEEL event from start to finish. It felt like a WrestleMania. It had the 3 S’s: Stars, Stories and Spectacle.
I already did a 5 minute review while traveling to my son’s toddler gym class, so I’m gonna use this blog as a way to talk about who I felt were the MVPs of the PPV (PLE).
WWE is so damn stacked right now that it’s impossible to nitpick anything. The stars, the booking, everything is just firing on all cylinders. So without wasting any more time, this is who I felt were the MVPs of an absolute top of the line show.
#1 TIFFANY STRATTON
There’s something about her right now. I think it’s because based on her looks you’d immediately make the comparison to Mandy Rose, but in Tiffany’s case, her character is so damn strong. Tiffy Time is gonna be so disgustingly over.
On top of that, she was pretty close to flawless in the ring and covered a ton of the big spots. She’s a superior athlete to most of the division. If Bianca is the standard, she’s right there as 1b in my book. It takes women like Stratton for a Women’s Chamber match to work. There’s obviously a huge difference between what the Men and Women can do, but talent like Stratton make you forget that. Future Woman’s Champion.
#2 BIANCA BELAIR
Opened the show, set the tone and looked like a million zillion bucks. If Becky didn’t win, it would have been Belair, but we all knew that wasn’t gonna happen. This PPV was very obvious, but Belair’s performance made it clear that despite who’s in the title matches (with the exception of Rhea), that’s she’s the top babyface in the Women’s Division.
#3 TRIPLE H
The Booking was flawless. If I could have changed anything, it would have been to have R-Truth make a run in, but aside from that everything went according to plan. He came out in front of the crowd who’s in on it as much as anyone else – Triple H is the guy pulling the strings and I thank the Lord everyday that he is.
#4: 5AM ET WAKE UP TIME
I dunno about you guys, but I felt like it added to the event. It made it seem like you didn’t want to miss it, even if it meant fucking up the rest of your day. FOMO is a bitch.
#5 RANDY ORTON
At any point if WWE decided to put the title on him it would work. Randy Orton is probably the WWE’s truest STAR. He has never NOT been on top, never had any lulls in his career that could be attributed to him (i.e. bad creative). He looks incredible and has returned to form. The RKO still slaps, the story he tells and the mannerisms. Not to mention, he always makes EVERYONE look better.
#6 LOGAN PAUL
Not sure how many times this guy need to show up before we just accept that he’s as part of the roster as any WWE Superstar. His gear was legit unbelievable. His presence and character are lock-stop. He’s must see. He was also in the most critical spot in the Chamber, knocking out Randy Orton with brass knuckles, allowing Drew to get the win.
#7 DREW MCINTYRE
What else is there to say? Best version of him in his entire WWE career. He did the work leading up to the event, both in the ring and on social. No one has furthered their storyline better than Drew. A guy who people thought would leave the WWE is now center stage
#8 AUSTRALIA
For a STADIUM OUTDOOR show they absolutely brought it. The acoustics were there and never failed. They were up from the start to the finish. Also, shoutout WWE for not making these PPVs long. Nobody wants to watch 5 hours of wrestling. Short and to the point. Not everyone needs to be on the damn show all the time.
#9 NIA JAX
Fuck the haters. She looks great and is an enforcer in the women’s division that is desperately needed. If it wasn’t for her great work, who knows if this would have headlined? She was the perfect dance partner for Rhea.
#10 RHEA RIPLEY
The biggest female star in all of pro wrestling …. no no no let me correct myself … she’s one of THE biggest stars in ALL of pro wrestling. In her home of Australia she delivered. She brought the energy, dropped the heel for a day and went full babyface. The audience was invested, she was invested and it 100% translated on TV. Rhea Ripley was the biggest star of this entire show.
